HEINEKEN today announced the appointment of Chris Van Steenbergen as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective May 1 2014.
In this role, Chris will join the HEINEKEN Executive Committee, reporting to Chairman of the Executive Board / Chief Executive Officer Jean-François van Boxmeer.
Chris, a Belgian national, joins from Royal DSM where for the last four years he has been Executive Vice President Corporate HR, based in Heerlen, the Netherlands.
A lawyer by training, prior to this, Chris spent more than 20 years in Senior HR and operational roles including Chief Human Resources Officer Cadbury, President Europe Cadbury, CEO of Quick Restaurants SA in Belgium and Managing Director Randstad Belgium.
Commenting on the appointment, Jean-François van Boxmeer, HEINEKEN CEO said, “I am delighted that Chris will join our business. His operational experience combined with his understanding of developing people, teams and leaders will enable us to strengthen further our performance driven culture throughout the company”.
