New Food hears from AFDO Executive Director Steven Mandernach on the current state of the US Food and Drug Administration, and what improvements could be made to its structure.
In the latest of our behind-the-scenes interviews from The Food Safety Conference, New Food‘s Joshua Minchin speaks to AFDO Executive Director Steven Mandernach on the current state of US food and beverage regulation.
Mandernach explains why the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) needs to adapt its structure to put food and beverage closer to the centre, and provide better protection and information for consumers.
Drawing on his considerable experience within the US food regulatory system, Manderanch reveals some of the recommendations he and his organisation have made, as well as offering a warning about the capacity of the FDA to deploy in the event of a mass recall again.
