In the UK, Waitrose is recalling its Salted Dairy Butter as it may contain pieces of blue cloth.

The product being recalled is part of Waitrose Essentials range and comes in a pack size of 500g. The best before date to look out for is 19 June 2024.

Waitrose has said that it will be displaying point of sale notices in all retail stores that were selling the product to explain why the product is being recalled.

Advice states that anyone who has purchased the affected product should not eat it. Instead they should return it to a local Waitrose branch for a full refund.

Packaging concerns

Meanwhile, in the US, Primal Kitchen has shared that it is voluntarily recalling 2,060 cases of three code dates of its Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil (750ml) as the glass it is packaged in may be “prone to breakage, causing the product to spill”.

Only products sold in a 750ml container are involved in this recall. The UPC code to look out for is 8-5523200719-4, Case UPC of 108552320071910000. The “Best When Used By” date involved in this recall is 19 Aug 2025 through 21 Aug 2025.

The issue was identified when the company discovered the issue via monitoring of its warehouse. During this, the company noticed that avocado oil had leaked in shipping containers.

According to Primal Kitchen, “no consumer injuries or illnesses have been reported to date”.

The products involved in this recall have been sold in the eastern United States, California and online.

Advice to consumers states that those who have purchased the affected items should dispose of them and contact Primal Kitchen.
