In the UK, itsu (grocery) is recalling its frozen itsu sizzling pork gyoza as the product may contain “small pieces of plastic”.

The recalled product comes in a pack size of 240g and has a best before date of 08 March 2025.

As well as recalling the product, itsu has also issued a recall notice to alert its consumers as to why the product is being recalled.

Anyone that has purchased the affected product, advice states that you should not eat it and instead send a photograph of the best before date to [email protected]. Alternatively consumers can write to the company.

Pathogens

Meanwhile in the US, Hormel Foods Sales is recalling a number of two PLANTERS® products as they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The products in question were produced at one of its facilities in April and the company has stated that this recall on impacts two retailers across five states in the US.

Recalled items were shipped to Publix distribution warehouses in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina as well as to Dollar Tree distribution warehouses in South Carolina and Georgia.

The products being recalled are: 4 oz. packages of PLANTERS® Honey Roasted Peanuts (UPC code 2900002097 and Best If Used By Date 04 11 25) and 8.75 oz. cans of PLANTERS® Deluxe Lightly Salted Mixed Nuts (UPC 2900001621 and Best If Used By Date 05APR26)

The company has confirmed that “no other sizes, varieties, or other packaging configurations of PLANTERS® brand products are included in this recall”. In addition it has stated that “there have been no reports of illness related to this recall to date, and all retailers that received the affected product have been properly notified”.

Advice to consumers states that those who have purchased the product should discard it or return it to the store of purchase for an exchange or full refund.
