Müller UK & Ireland has announced it has joined the processor-led organisation Dairy UK as it targets further industry collaboration.
Dairy UK, which represents farmer-owned co-ops and private dairy firms, plays a pivotal role in promoting British dairy products domestically and internationally, supporting the entire supply chain through advocacy, sustainability initiatives, and the promotion of nutritional benefits.
The addition of Müller, one of the UK’s largest dairy processors, is set to amplify these efforts. “We’re delighted to confirm Müller to our membership, marking a significant step forward for industry collaboration. This reflects the value of collective action in addressing the pressing challenges and opportunities facing the UK dairy sector today,” said Dr. Judith Bryans, Chief Executive of Dairy UK.
Müller’s Chief Executive of Milk & Ingredients, Rob Hutchison, echoed the sentiment, emphasising the importance of united action: “Our purpose is to deliver a better future for the British dairy industry and where possible, we want to come together as an industry to build a more resilient and sustainable future.
“So, whether that’s through first-class service levels for our retail partners, great tasting products for shoppers, or genuine partnerships with our supplying farmers, we are taking steps that we think can benefit everyone,” he added.
The collaboration comes as the dairy industry navigates a complex landscape marked by rising costs, environmental pressures, and shifting consumer preferences. Both organisations aim to promote British dairy products on the global stage while ensuring sustainability remains central to the sector’s evolution.
By joining Dairy UK, Müller strengthens its commitment to fostering cross-industry partnerships that benefit farmers, businesses, and consumers alike, marking a significant step toward securing a thriving and sustainable future for British dairy.
