Aldi will launch a new Flake Bake chicken patty on 12 March 2025, following huge demand for the brand’s Jamaican-inspired beef patties.

Aldi is expanding its popular Flake Bake range after selling more than one million patties — marking a major milestone for the London-based father-and-son bakery behind the product.
Paul and Mike Williams, the duo behind Flake Bake, first appeared on Channel 4’s Aldi’s Next Big Thing, where they secured a deal to supply their Jamaican-inspired beef patties to over 1,000 Aldi stores nationwide. Originally intended as a limited-run product, the beef patties have been on sale continuously since September 2024 due to ongoing demand.
Now, Aldi has confirmed it will introduce a new chicken patty from the Flake Bake range, following what it describes as “unprecedented” customer appetite for the original product.
Made with seasoned chicken, Caribbean spices and wrapped in Flake Bake’s distinctive golden-yellow flaky pastry, the new chicken patty aims to build on the success of the beef version, which has earned a loyal following among Aldi shoppers.
Since their TV appearance, Flake Bake has gained wider recognition, including a place in Channel 4’s Black in Business initiative, catering for the Jamaican High Commission UK, and being named among HSBC UK’s “Top 25 Black Entrepreneurs to Watch”.
Reflecting on the year since their TV debut, Mike Williams said:
It has been one year since appearing on Aldi’s Next Big Thing and the journey following the episode has been phenomenal. We’re thrilled to be the first brand from the show to return with a seasonal product and we can’t wait for shoppers to try our new delicious chicken flavour.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, added:
It’s incredible to see how far Mike and Paul have come since we met them on Aldi’s Next Big Thing. Their Flake Bake patties have been a huge success and we’re excited to expand the range with a new flavour this summer — we hope shoppers love them!
The original Flake Bake Beef Patty remains on sale, with the new Chicken Patty set to join Aldi shelves from 12 March 2025.
