Too Good To Go and CEVA Logistics have reached a major milestone, successfully distributing 100,000 surplus food parcels in just four months, helping to reduce food waste and support sustainable manufacturing practices across the UK and Europe.

Too Good To Go and its logistics partner, CEVA Logistics, have achieved a remarkable milestone, distributing 100,000 Too Good To Go Parcels in just four months. The innovative service, which launched in November and is designed to tackle surplus food waste at the manufacturing level, is making significant strides in reducing food waste across Europe’s food production sector.
Tackling food waste at the manufacturing level
With an estimated 12 million tonnes of food wasted annually in Europe’s manufacturing sector alone, the UK brand’s parcel distribution service is providing a vital solution. This service helps food brands manage excess stock and divert unsold items from going to waste.
In partnership with CEVA Logistics, surplus food from well-known brands such as Tony’s Chocolonely and Heinz is packed and delivered to consumers at a reduced price via the Too Good To Go app.
Tony’s Chocolonely, one of the companies involved, celebrated the milestone. A spokesperson for the brand commented:
Partnering with Too Good To Go has given us a powerful, sustainable way to manage our surplus and stay connected with our conscious consumer base.”
Heinz also praised the initiative, their spokesperson added:
We’re thrilled to see the success of this partnership. It underscores the importance of sustainable solutions in reducing food waste.”
Turning surplus into sustainability
Through the Parcels initiative, brands are able to reduce waste from excess stock, packaging changes or cosmetic imperfections. This innovative solution turns potential losses into both environmental and financial gains, allowing brands to recoup profits on items that might otherwise be discarded.
CEVA Logistics has played a crucial role in the success of this initiative. Steve Barry, Senior General Manager at CEVA Logistics, commented:
Reaching 100,000 Parcels shipped across the UK with Too Good To Go shows the power of collaboration in tackling food waste by driving sustainable change, not just in our local community but across the globe.”
Globally, Too Good To Go Parcels has saved over 3.2 million parcels, preventing 51.9 million kilograms of CO2 emissions and conserving 15 billion litres of water. As the initiative continues to grow across Europe, it represents a promising step towards a more sustainable future.
Sid Baveja, VP Operations for Central Europe at Too Good To Go, added:
We’re really proud to have reached this milestone with our partners at CEVA Logistics. Globally, 40 percent of food produced is still being wasted, so knowing that we can successfully provide technology-enabled solutions to manufacturers that help them manage surplus food items and redistribute them to consumers with convenient delivery is a promising step in the right direction.”
