Jim Moseley, Managing Director of General Mills, UK, Ireland and the Nordic markets has taken up the reins as President of the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) – the voice of the UK food and drink manufacturing industry.
Mr Moseley, who succeeds Ross Warburton as President, took up the role this month (January 2011) following 4 years as Vice and Deputy President of FDF and chair of its Food Safety and Scientific Steering Group. He has over 30 years experience in the food and drink manufacturing industry within a broad range of categories including meat, ice-cream, canned vegetables, home baking and sports drinks.
Mr Moseley said: “I am proud of the food and drink industry in this country and delighted to take on this role. My ambition for my time as President is to work with members to champion our sector and maximise the positive contribution food and drink manufacturers make to society – whether it’s the fantastic careers on offer, our efforts to reduce our environmental impact, the safety and quality of the products we make or our world-leading work to help people lead healthier lives.”
New Chairs have also been appointed to three of FDF’s main steering groups. Paul Grimwood, Chairman of Nestle (UK and Ireland) will lead the Competitiveness Steering Group, Nick Bunker, Managing Director of Kraft (UK and Ireland) becomes Chair of the Sustainability Steering Group and Martin Douglas, General Manager of Cargill becomes Chair of the Food Safety and Science Steering Group. Fiona Dawson, MD of Mars Chocolate UK remains as Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Steering Group.
