The best of alcohol, but without the headache

A disruptive new entrant to the market, Citizen Spritz is reimagining adult drinks with its range of innovative concentrated instant spritz mixes, designed to make everyday moderation desirable and effortless. Sophisticated and complex in flavour, when combined with sparkling or soda water the carefully crafted but simple-to-serve drinks create a refreshing aperitif-style beverage, designed to be enjoyed either at home or served via the on-trade industry.

As passionate foodies with a zest for life, we appreciate a cold beer or glass of wine but found alcohol-free options that are both refreshing and genuinely delicious to be thin on the ground. With long histories of creating and developing food and drink brands for other companies, we wanted to create a new beverage category: zero alcohol, low in calories and sugar, balancing vibrant natural ingredients and intense flavours with the elusive warm tingle found in the best alcoholic libations.
We weren’t looking to quit alcohol but wanted something for the times when it’s too early to start drinking, or for when we just wanted to abstain. On the basis that we couldn’t be the only people looking for a satisfying ‘in-between’ drink that wasn’t a compromise, Mark and I combined our many years of food and flavour expertise and set about creating our own.

In terms of the nutritional profile of Citizen Spritz, the taste and drinking experience was always the priority. It needed to deliver bursts of intense complex flavours but we also wanted to consider the growing interest in healthier living. We intentionally created products using plant compounds and extracts, culminating in a drink that is naturally lower in sugar and calories compared to both cocktails and mocktails.
