EFSA is launching a public consultation on draft guidance that enables scientists to predict environmental concentrations of plant protection products and their transformation products in soil. The document provides an approach for assessing the exposure of soil organisms to these chemicals. EFSA has developed a software tool for calculating these soil concentrations. This is available to download from the website of the European Commission’s Joint Research Council (JRC).
All stakeholders and interested parties are invited to comment on the guidance through an online public consultation that runs until 4 September 2014.
