Public health authorities in the US are warning consumers not to consume a certain brand or organic spinach after multiple cases of E.coli were detected in several different states. According to the CDC 14 people infected with the bacteria have been reported from nine states. 10 people in this outbreak report eating spinach in the week before becoming sick and six people reported Josie’s Organics brand.
The UK’s bird flu outbreak is continue to worsen, with UK authorities claiming more premises than ever before have been hit with the disease. Thousands of birds have already been culled as a result of the avian flu outbreak, which is caused by migratory birds returning to the UK. Housing orders have been put in place across many areas of the UK in a bid to curb the spread of the disease.
And lastly, Triscuit is giving away 600,000 servings of fresh fruit and vegetables in Washington DC to those who need it most.
