Recall Roundup: Frito-Lay and multiple undeclared allergens

Salmonella

In the US, Lipari Foods is voluntarily recalling a specific lot of Lipari Branded Ground Cumin Tubs that were manufactured by International Food as they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The affected products were distributed to retail stores across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The recalled products have a lot code of 220914601, a best by date of 09/2024 and the UPC code 094776212620. The product is also sold in a 6 oz tub.

The company has claimed that there have been no reported illnesses linked with this product to date.

Customers that have purchased the product have been advised not to consume it, instead they can return it to the place of purchase.

Undeclared allergens

Meanwhile in the UK, Birds Eye is recalling its Aunt Bessie’s Crispy Whole Onion Rings as certain packs may contain an incorrect product which contains both milk and egg.

Birds Eye has said that this recall has occurred due to a manufacturing error. The product comes in a pack size of 375g and has the batch code L3037. The best before date to take note of is August 2024.

Birdseye has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations that will inform their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point of sale notice that explains to customers what they should do if they have purchased the product.

Consumers with an allergy to milk/milk constituents or egg should not eat the product. Instead Birds Eye has advised them to cut the packaging which shows the batch code and post it along with their contact details to the following address for a full refund: Birds Eye Limited Freepost, ADM3939, London, SW1A 1 YS.

Elsewhere in the UK, Lakshmi Stores is recalling Parle-G because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

The product is sold in a pack size of 79.9g and has the batch code NK MTL/4466. The best before date to look out for is 19 September 2023.

Lakshmi Stores has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations that will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

Customers that have purchased the product and have an allergy to milk or milk constituents have been advised not to eat it. Instead they can return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
