Now stocked in Sainsbury’s and Morrisons, yfood’s ready-to-drink meals offer a convenient, complete nutritional solution for busy UK consumers.
European smart food brand yfood has announced a major expansion in the UK, securing nationwide listings with two major supermarket retailers. Renowned for its ready-to-drink meals that offer a nutritionally complete, balanced and convenient solution, yfood will launch in Sainsbury’s and Morrisons, rolling out products across more than 600 stores nationwide.
This expansion builds on the company’s existing UK retail success, with a remarkable 115 percent year-on-year revenue growth in 2024.
Paul Sloane, UK & Ireland Country Manager at yfood, commented: “We’re thrilled to secure these significant listings with both Sainsbury’s and Morrisons as two of the UK’s biggest and most esteemed nationwide grocers.”
“The momentum we’ve gained in the UK market reflects a clear shift in consumer behaviour towards considering holistic health and wellbeing, and we want to make it easier than ever for consumers nationwide to access nutritionally complete meals, further strengthening our position as a pioneer and leader in the smart food category.”
The retailers will provide different offerings with the Choco and Vanilla flavoured drinks available for customers in Sainsbury’s stores, while Morrisons’ shelves will feature the brand’s Choco and Berry varieties.
Rapid expansion
Since launching in 2017, the Germany-based brand has experienced rapid expansion. Success in Tesco has seen distribution increase by 50 percent, while listings in Co-op have moved from back-of-store to front-of-store placements, also doubling their distribution last year. Beyond supermarkets, yfood products are also available in specialist health stores and convenience retailers, including Holland & Barrett, Superdrug, and Spar, as well as at petrol stations such as Shell and BP.
Their ready-to-drink meals are particularly popular for breakfast and lunch, offering a convenient alternative for busy consumers. Each drink contains 26 essential vitamins and minerals, up to 34g of protein, and a blend of fats, carbohydrates and dietary fibres.
Available in both dairy and vegan options, the drinks aim to provide satiety for three to five hours and include a low glycaemic index to prevent energy crashes.
