Lidl GB has become the ‘first supermarket’ to sell products through TikTok Shop, marking a significant move into the world of social commerce.
As of today (20 February), the retailer has launched an exclusive offering targeting fitness enthusiasts and social shoppers, with a limited run of high-protein product bundles available for just £5.
The initiative taps into the growing trend of social shopping, with over a third of TikTok’s 1.69 billion users now engaging in purchases via the platform. Lidl’s bundles, each valued at over £30, are available exclusively through the @LidlGB TikTok account. This pop-up venture also supports a charitable cause, with all proceeds going to the NSPCC.
The High Protein Bundles feature a selection of Lidl’s popular protein-packed items, including IronMaxx’s 100% Whey Protein and Vegan Protein Zero, both designed to fuel post-workout recovery. Other items in the bundle include Lidl’s High Protein Bars, which contain 22g of protein and less than 1.5g of sugar, as well as indulgent snacks like Belbake Protein Pancake Mix and Crownfield High Protein Flapjacks.
The bundle also includes limited-edition Lidl-branded merchandise, including a microfibre towel and a resistance band set, offering a complete fitness package for fans. Savoury snack lovers aren’t left out either, with Snacktastic High Protein Pop Chips available in flavours such as salt & vinegar and barbecue.
In addition to the bundles, Lidl GB is offering Lidl Plus members a 25 percent discount on its chilled high-protein range in-store, available until 5 March.
Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director of Lidl GB said: “Our high protein range is a firm fan favourite with more than 150 high-protein products sold in our stores every minute and our customers across the country taking to social media to share their hauls each week.
She added, “With the number of TikTok shoppers growing rapidly, we’re proud to be the first supermarket meeting our customers directly on the platform with our unique offering, creating these exclusive bundles to showcase our new exciting products.”
