SABMiller RUS, a subsidiary of one of the world’s leading brewing companies, SABMiller plc, announced the opening of its Greenfield brewery in Ulyanovsk. The opening ceremony took place in Ulyanovsk on October 13th, 2010.
The Ulyanovsk brewery of SABMiller RUS is in compliance with world-class manufacturing standards and is equipped with the latest technologies. The plant is located on a 38-hectare site in the industrial area of the Zavolzhsky region of Ulyanovsk City. Construction on the project started in 2008, with the first production coming off the lines in the spring of 2009.
The brewery, with an overall investment of 7.2 bln Rbs, has an initial capacity of 3 million hl/year. The project has resulted in the creation of direct employment for over 300 local people.
