Genius Foods appoints Roz Cuschieri as new Director

Genius Foods, the award-winning gluten-free food specialist, has announced the appointment of Roz Cuschieri, former Commercial Director at Warburtons, as a Director of the company.

Cuschieri brings with her over 20 years experience of the FMCG and retail sectors and will be responsible for developing the Genius brand in the UK.

Cuschieri began her career at United Biscuits within sales and consumer marketing, followed by a five-year spell at Scottish Courage in senior roles focused on trade and category marketing. A move to Warburtons followed in 1998 where Cuschieri spent the following 12 years, seven of which were spent on the company’s executive board. For her final five years at the group she held the position of Commercial Director.

Since its launch in May 2009, Genius has become the Free From brand leader* and is seeking to build on that success by recruiting experienced top executives to oversee the company’s rapid growth.

Commenting on the appointment Cuschieri said: “I am delighted to be joining Genius at this exciting and important time. Genius Foods has recently launched their first televised advertising campaign across the Channel 4 network and on terrestrial and digital channels. The £3m campaign includes an interactive online element featuring exclusive Genius content, competitions and offers. The company has also recently developed successful commercial partnerships with Starbucks and Claridge’s Hotel.

Genius gluten-free white and brown bread is now stocked in all major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and Waitrose as well as other independent and specialist stockists.
