Randox to demonstrate innovation in Turkey

Randox Food Diagnostics, experts in food screening technology, is showcasing advancements in antibiotic and pesticide testing at the 45th Apimondia International Apiculture conference being held September 29th – October 4th in Istanbul, Turkey.

Working with world-leading honey producers, Randox Food Diagnostics has developed a range of tests to detect antibiotics commonly used in Apiculture. They include Antimicrobial Array 1 Ultra and Antimicrobial Array II Plus. These enable detection of 15 sulphonamindes and Trimethoprim from a single sample, using the company’s unique multi-analyte screening transformational platform on its patented Biochip Array Technology. This can be used on the company’s benchtop immunoanalyser, the Evidence Investigator.

Apimondia guests will be invited to learn more about the upcoming launch of Randox Food Diagnostic’s pesticide array, which will also be available on the Investigator. This will provide multiple results for the world’s most prevalent pesticides, such as Amitraz, Acetamiprid, Carbofuran, Carbaryl, and Paraquar, from one sample.

Live demonstrations of the Evidence Investigator will be held in its custom-built lab in booth AO78 and on the RX misano, Randox’s clinical chemistry analyser which has set a benchmark in the industry. The showcase tests include those for glucose/fructose and Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). This was recently validated by leading South American honey producer, the La Pampa-based Geomiel, which credited the RX misano for delivering an immediate improvement in the quality of its honey products.

Consolidating the testing process is a cost-effective way for the honey industry to improve standards. During Apimondia 2017, attendees will be offered a complete testing bundle including the Randox Evidence Investigator and RX misano to enable them to test for antibiotics and assess quality in one easy-to-manage system. A unique feature of this bundle is the ease of use of Randox’s ever-expanding test menu. The RX misano for example has a customisable test menu which allows clients to upload new parameters using USB, ensuring access to the most up-to-date tests on the market.
