Ted Combs, Industry Principal, Consumer Products, AVEVA

Ted Combs is the Industry Principal for Consumer Products at AVEVA.  Ted has fifteen years of experience working directly in the Consumer Products industry and over twenty-five years’ experience in Information and operations Technology.  He was Global VP for Consumer Products Solutions at SAP and Global Managing Director of Consumer Goods industry at Microsoft.  He has worked with many companies both large and small helping them discover value and transform digitally.  Ted earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Professor Chris Elliot, Professor of Food Safety at Queen’s University Belfast

Chris Elliott

Chris is Professor of Food Safety and Founder of the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University Belfast.

He served as Pro Vice Chancellor responsible for the Medical and Life Sciences Faculty between 2015 and 2018 and has published more than 450 peer-reviewed articles, many of them relating to the detection and control of agriculture, food, and environmental contaminants.

His main research interests are in the development of innovative techniques to provide early warning of toxin threats across complex food supply systems. Protecting the integrity of the food supply chain from fraud is also a key research topic and Chris led the independent review of Britain’s food system following the 2013 horsemeat scandal.

Sterling Crew, President of the Institute of Food Science and Technology

Sterling is a seasoned food safety expert with over 40 years of experience in the industry. He has held leadership roles at major retailers, brands, and manufacturers. His expertise spans regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and international food standards. Sterling is currently involved in various advisory and governance positions, including the Safe to Trade, Eurofins, and OLIO.

Carrie Rigdon, Director,Association of Food & Drug Officials (AFDO)

Darren Logan,  VP of research, Mars

A member of the Mars Science Leadership Team, Darren leads the Corporate Science Discovery, including two research organisations that support all Mars’ segments and divisions with world-class science and technology capabilities: he leads the research programme at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute. As the fundamental science centre for Mars Petcare, Waltham generates knowledge, publishes research and investigates solutions to improve the health, well-being and the quality of life of pets worldwide.
