Katie Doherty
Policy Director, International Meat Trade Association
Katie was made a director of the IMTA board in March 2017, responsible for establishing and promoting the policy of the association and acting deputy to the CEO. IMTA represents importers and exporters of beef, lamb, pork and poultry meat. Katie is soon to complete her Diploma in World Customs Compliance and Regulations with The Institute of Export. Katie is currently working to devise a Brexit toolkit for members as well as developing specific policy documents to build on the IMTA Brexit Policy Paper which was issued last year. Key areas of policy work: veterinary checks, tariffs, customs, free trade agreements and tariff rate quotas. IMTA continues to play an active role in its European Trade Association (UECBV). Katie Doherty graduated from The London School of Economics in 2011 with a BA degree in International History and joined The International Meat Trade Association in September 2012.
