Tom Sallis
Deputy Director for EU & Brexit, Scotch Whisky Association
Tom joined the Scotch Whisky Association in 2015 and is responsible for leading its work on Brexit and EU affairs. Since the vote to leave the EU, Tom has co-ordinated the response of the Scotch Whisky industry to the many challenges and opportunities posed by Brexit. With March 2019 fast approaching, Brexit preparation has become increasingly important and Tom has worked closely with Scotch Whisky producers to support their contingency planning efforts. Brexit aside, Tom is frequently in Brussels engaging with EU policymakers to secure positive outcomes for the industry on important developments to single market legislation. Prior to his time in the Scotch Whisky industry, Tom worked as a senior adviser in Brussels for the Confederation of British Industry, specialising on free trade agreements and employment law.
