Julian Ogden
Head of Indirect Taxes, Pladis
Julian is a Chartered Tax Adviser with 30 years’ experience in Indirect Tax and the international trade environment, working for HM Customs & Excise, the Simpler Trade Procedures Board, PricewaterhouseCoopers, United Biscuits and now pladis (parent company of United Biscuits). He was chair of the UK’s VAT in Industry Group for six years (2012-2018) and the Food and Drink Federation’s (FDF) Customs Working Group and represents the FDF at the Joint Customs Consultative EU Exit Sub-Group – an HMRC/trade engagement group focused on customs processes and solutions post-Brexit. Julian provides advice on Indirect Tax across pladis’s global foot-print, working with the regions to develop tax efficient supply chain structures and has direct responsibility for Indirect Tax compliance in the UK and European regions. He has successfully managed the UK’s AEO accreditation process and is leading a cross-functional team focused on Brexit and its impact on the pladis business.
